Choosing a web hosting provider

There are many things to consider when choosing a web hosting provider one of the first things I suggest doing is reading as many web hosting guides as you possibly can. You can find them all over the internet and a simple google search will yield a ton of different pages to read about.

Other things to consider when looking for a web hosting provider.

• How long have they been in business?
• If you call RIGHT NOW do you get a real person the phone?
• SLA, TOS and AUP are VERY important be sure to read them thoroughly!
• A support ticket system.
• The amount of bandwidth you need of course and the amount of disk space you need.
• You also need to read about the OPTIONS that come with your account if you need extra e-mails the host may nickle and dime you on add-ons.
• SSH access.
• Frontpage Extensions (for those who use frontpage).
• PHP andMySQL versions.
• Backbone connections. Multiple backbones are a BIG plus and multi-homed even more so.
